Privacy policy

In short. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your songs stay on your phone. Only codes go through our server, when you ask for a short code: a loop’s holds nothing but the music, a sound’s its settings and the name you gave it. The app also sends anonymous statistics (crashes and usage), which you can turn off in “About”.
Who is responsible for your data
The Harmonino app and this website are published by EURL Ladam Informatique Et Développement, a French single-member limited company.
- Registered office: 200 rue de la Croix Nivert, 75015 Paris, France
- Registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 978 534 014
- Director of publication: Ludovic Ladam

What stays on your phone
- The songs you save in the app. They never leave your phone: if you delete the app, they are deleted with it, and we have no copy of them. To keep a loop, keep its code.
- My sounds, the sounds you keep in the Sound workshop, with their names. Like your songs, they stay on your phone and are deleted with the app; they leave it only if you share them.
- The files you export (video, WAV sound, MIDI notes). You choose where they go, with your phone’s share sheet. On Android, you can also keep them on the phone: the sound and the MIDI notes in Downloads, the videos in your gallery, in a “Harmonino” folder.
- To save a video to Photos, iOS asks for your permission. It only allows adding a video: the app does not read your photo library. On Android (10 and later), keeping a file asks for no permission: the app adds its own files and reads none of yours.
What goes through our server: short codes
A loop’s full code describes its music: the notes, the instruments, the tempo, the key. It holds neither the song’s name, nor your name, nor any identifier of your phone.
A sound’s full code (“Share”, next to one of My sounds, in the Sound workshop) describes its settings and the instrument it was made on, with the name you gave it: the name goes with it, so pick one you are happy to share. It holds no identifier of your phone.
- When you show a loop’s code (“Export…”, then “Loop code”) or export a video, and when you share one of My sounds, the app sends this full code to our server, which gives it a short code, for example 7K3-QXM-4PA.
- When you type a short code in “Open a code”, the app sends it to the server to find the loop or the sound.
- Codes are kept as long as the service exists, so that short codes already shared keep working.
- To prevent abuse (at most 60 new codes per hour from one address), the server keeps a fingerprint of your IP address, computed with a secret key and not reversible, for one day at most.
- Like any host, Supabase may keep technical logs, IP addresses included, for the security of the service.
The server is hosted by Supabase (Supabase Inc.), on servers in Frankfurt, Germany. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running code sharing and protecting it from abuse.
Offline, nothing is sent: a loop’s or a sound’s full code always opens without a server.
Purchases
Harmonino Pro is bought on the App Store or on Google Play. The store processes the payment (Apple or Google): we receive neither your details nor your payment data. The app checks the purchase on your phone, with the store’s own system (StoreKit on iPhone, Google Play Billing on Android).
Anonymous statistics
To fix bugs and see which features get used, the app sends anonymous statistics. They are on by default; you can turn them off at any time in “About”, in the app: nothing more is sent, and their identifiers are forgotten.
- Crashes and errors, to Sentry (Functional Software Inc.): what failed in the app, with the phone’s model and the system (iOS or Android) and app versions.
- App usage, to PostHog (PostHog Inc.): when the app opens and a few actions (the first play and the first note changed, a sound idea drawn, the Sound workshop opened and on which instrument, a sound kept or shared, a sound’s code opened, a song saved, an export made or shared, a code opened, the Pro offer shown or bought), with the phone’s model, the system (iOS or Android) and app versions, the language and the time zone.
These statistics contain neither your name, nor your songs, your sounds or their names, nor their codes, nor your location, nor your IP address (neither service keeps it). Each service gets its own identifier, drawn at random and renewed every year: it is linked neither to you nor to the other service’s. They are for our use only, never combined with other data and never sold. Sentry keeps them for 30 days, PostHog for a year, in the European Union. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the app.
Our processors
Three providers process data on our behalf, as processors within the meaning of the GDPR:
- Supabase (Supabase Inc.): the short code server, in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Sentry (Functional Software Inc.): crashes and errors, in the European Union.
- PostHog (PostHog Inc.): usage statistics, in the European Union.
As these three companies are American, any transfer outside the EU is covered by the safeguards the GDPR provides for, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Apple and Google process purchases under their own responsibility.
Security
All exchanges between the app and these services are encrypted (HTTPS). Your songs never leave your phone.
No ads, no tracking
The app contains no ads and no tracking tools: the statistics do not follow you from one app or website to another. We neither sell nor share any data with third parties for commercial purposes.
Children
Harmonino is suitable for all ages. It asks for no personal information, and its statistics cannot tell who uses it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your data, restrict its processing or object to it by writing to contact@harmonino.com. Codes are linked to no one: to have a loop or a sound erased from the server, send us its short code. To object to the anonymous statistics, turn them off in “About”. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the one of your country.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page, with its date at the top; an important change will also be announced in the app’s release notes.
